Music has been Mark Alvin Simbulan’s passion since he was young — he used to grab his mom’s hairbrush and pretend to be on stage singing his heart out.
Born in Isabela, Philippines, he started performing in local events and weddings around the area. With the intention of helping his mother, he started doing gigs in bars to support his studies.
Years later, he is now an active leader in the local Filipino community in Montreal — serving as both organizer and performer at Ms. Gay Montreal 2016 and FilCan Idol, where he won First Runner-up in 2013. He is also an in-demand host/emcee and event coordinator. He considers Michael Bublé, Whitney Houston, and Regine Velasquez as his influences. Recently, he added Public Service in his impressive resumé when he was elected as the Secretary of the Filipino Association of Montreal and Suburbs, commonly known as FAMAS.
As the FilCan Idol President from 2016 to 2018, he continued touching everyone’s hearts with his voice and filling everyone’s spirits with his soulful melodies.
