Born and raised in Quebec, Astrid Torrico has been singing for as long as she can remember. Hailing from a musical family, Astrid has always been surrounded by music since birth and she didn’t let the influence go to waste. With her loving parents as her biggest fans, they encourage her to be the best that she can be.
She became the FilCan Idol 2014 Junior Division Grand Champion when she was 10 years old, the first-ever talent competition she participated in. She auditioned for Talent Nation where she was selected as the youngest among several hundreds of young Montrealers. She has also been a regular performer in various Filipino festivals in Montreal, Ottawa, Vaughan, and Toronto: The Vaughan Festival Extravaganza and Taste of Manila, the biggest Filipino festival in Toronto, to name a few.
Astrid also performed as an opening act for some famous Filipino artists such as Journey frontman Arnel Pineda and was also a performer at Parliament Hill in Ottawa in front of many MPs, Senators and other dignitaries. Her greatest achievement to date was when she performed in the 40th Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, one of the biggest musical festivals in the world. Singing has been and will always be a huge part of her life and she is thankful for all the great opportunities given to her throughout the years.
